Egor Local Government Council under the leadership of Hon. Kelvin Eguakun Ighodaro, has commenced the installation of Solar Lights along Uselu Lagos Road following the desilting of the road drainage system.
While speaking to the press, the Chairman stated that the installation of solar lights was critical to the desilted drainages, as it would aid in the illumination of the area to prevent people from accidentally falling into the drainage system at night.
Hon. Eguakun reiterated that his administration would collaborate with His Excellency Governor Monday Okpebholo’s reform agenda to create a conducive and inclusive Local Government.
According to the Chairman, progress can be made with unwavering determination and a strong sense of commitment, transparency and community involvement. He added that Egor Local Government Area was soon to become the envy of all.
While speaking on environmental sustainability, Hon. Eguakun stated that the Council has continued the desilting of drainage systems within the Local Government Area to control flooding and erosion in the area as the rainy season begins, which he said would aid in the maintenance of a livable and pollution free environment.
The Chairman therefore urged residents to refrain from indiscriminate waste disposal in order to avoid clogging the drains, while appealing to the general public to comply with the Edo State Government Reformation Agenda.
