The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu has commended a Non Governmental Organization, Street Project Foundation (SPF) for their advocacy efforts through art and creativity in empowering the youths and young adults across the Nation and Edo State.
Hon. Ohonbamu gave this commendation when he played host to the Founder of SPF, Mrs. Ehiaghe Rita Ezenwa-Okoro, and her team who where on a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Benin City.
He noted that the youths and young adults are essential stakeholders in the society whose welfare and career growth should be prioritize, while reassuring of the State Government’s commitment towards the development and empowerment of youths in Edo State through various programs as enshrined in the project SHINE mantra of the Governor Okpebholo’s administration.
Hon. Ohonbamu pledged the Ministry’s commitment to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and Non Governmental Organizations whose mandates align with the State Government’s quest in empowering the youths of the State.
Earlier, the Founder of SPF, Mrs. Ehiaghe Rita Ezenwa-Okoro stated that the organization had been recognized by the United Nations for its commitment to using the creative art to empower youth, foster leadership development and promote cross-cultural dialogue through its ‘Artvocacy’ Movement ( use of arts, dance and visual arts).
She added that the Organization is currently running a four week ‘Artvocacy’ Movement in Benin City that would climax on Sunday 11th May 2025 at Rick Rex Event City, G.R.A, Benin City, Edo State.
She used the visit to seek for collaboration and partnership with the Ministry in expanding the frontier of advocacy programs across the State.
