The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu has commended the Executive Director of Doers Upliftment Foundation (DUF), Miss Mirabel Ehi Iyamu on her award of recognition from the Edo State Organized Private Sector (EDSOPS), and Chairman by the Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA) for her exceptional contribution to the economic development of Edo State.
Hon. Ohonbamu gave this commendation while receiving Miss Ehi, who visited to present her award to the Commissioner at his office in Benin City, noting that her contribution to the economic development of the State through her organization’s skills acquisition, business development and empowerment programs for young women and the girl child are worthy of commendation, hence her well-deserved award.
The Commissioner urged Miss Mirabel to remain focused on her mandate in promoting activities that will enhance the living standards of young women and youths in the society, while assuring of the Ministry’s collaboration and support in engaging a wider active youthful populace for the betterment of the State.
On her part, Miss Mirabel thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception, explaining that her organization focused on holistic community development and aims to address challenges faced by vulnerable groups such as widowed or incapacitated women, girls, youths and underprivileged children.
She added that DUF which has been in existence for half a decade has empowered and trained over four thousands (4000) young women and the girl child through skills acquisition, business development and other empowerment programs in the State.
It would be recalled that Miss Mirabel was among other notable recipients of an award of recognition for her exceptional contribution to the economic development of Edo State during the Edo State Organized Private Sector Award organized by EDSOPS on the 8th of May, 2025, at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City.
