EDSG Launches 2025 Operational Plan to strengthen Healthcare services across the State

The Edo State Ministry of Health has launched its 2025 Annual Operational Plan (AOP) following a dissemination meeting held at the Ministry’s premises in Benin-City.

The plan was developed using a sector-wide approach that encourages teamwork, coordination and accountability among all stakeholders in the Health Sector.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, in his remark explained that the AOP outlined the current state of healthcare in Edo, the improvements needed and the steps to reach goals set up to improve the sector, adding that it would serve as a roadmap to strengthen health service delivery across the State. He called on all stakeholders to align their efforts with the goals of the AOP.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, described the AOP as a shared effort to improve Healthcare services.

Meanwhile, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Edo State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Loretta Iruobe, gave an overview of the dissemination process, explaining how the plan would be rolled out and used.

On their part, the representative of UNICEF, Dr. Ijeoma Agbo and Dr. Ayor Nora from the World Health Organization gave goodwill messages, expressing their support for the State’s efforts to improve Healthcare.

High point of the event was the official launch of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole.

The event marked a major step forward in Edo State’s Health planning and delivery, with strong commitment from both Government and partners to the goals of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan.
