The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Peter Osagie has admonished staff to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties.
He gave the admonition while congratulating the retiring Head of Department, Account and Finance, Mrs. Carol Odion, who retired from the State Civil Service after attaining the stipulated years in service, during a send-forth ceremony organized by the Ministry at the Agriculture Hub, in Benin City.
Dr. Osagie commended her for her outstanding leadership qualities in handling affairs of her Department while working in the Ministry, describing her as a role model and an administrator who ensured that her Department’s responsibilities in the Ministry were carried out in the most professional manner for progress.
The Permanent Secretary who urged all members of staff to emulate the sterling qualities of the retired Head of Department, thanked her for the services she rendered in the Ministry as well as the State, expressing his appreciation for the good working relationship he had with her and other staff of the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary further described the retiring Head of Department as, industrious, resourceful, humble and diligent during her service in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, adding that she would be greatly missed by all.
He prayed God to grant her more fruitful years in good health as she retires from service.
Other Directors and Heads of Department also showered encomiums on the retired Head of Department for the synergy they had with her during her service years, wishing her well as she exits the Service.
On her part, the retiring Head of Department, Account and Finance, Mrs. Carol Odion thanked the Permanent Secretary, Directors and Heads of Department for their unalloyed support and cooperation with her while in Service, encouraging them to be more dedicated and committed to their duties so as to ensure the Ministry achieves its goals.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to the retiree.
